Pool Decks, Lanais & Screen Enclosures

Black algae on a pool deck is not just ugly — wet, it is genuinely slippery. We clean decks, cage frames and screens with the pressure each one can actually take.

The safety part is not marketing

The black film that builds up on a shaded pool deck is algae, and algae is slick when it gets wet. On the one surface in your garden where people walk barefoot, at speed, with a hard edge and deep water right there, that is a genuine hazard rather than a cosmetic complaint.

It concentrates where the deck stays damp longest — the shaded side, under the cage frame, around the edge of the coping. Those are the areas we spend the most time on.

Screens and cage frames are not pressure-washable

A screen enclosure will not survive a pressure washer. The mesh tears, and the pressure works the spline out of the channel so the panel goes slack. Screens get soft washed — solution, dwell, low-pressure rinse — which lifts the grey haze that builds up on the mesh and blocks your view out.

The aluminium frame is cleaned at the same time, along with the gutter line where the cage meets the house. That junction is usually the dirtiest part of the whole structure and the part most contractors leave alone.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Can you clean the screens without damaging them?
Yes — screens are soft washed, never pressure washed. High pressure tears mesh and pushes the spline out of its channel.
Is the cleaning solution safe around my pool?
Yes. We control overspray and rinse thoroughly, and the quantities involved are trivial next to the volume of a pool. Tell us if you have any specific concerns and we will work around them.
Do you clean the cage frame and gutters as well?
Yes. The frame and the gutter line where the cage meets the house are included — that junction is normally the dirtiest part of the structure.
How often do pool decks need doing?
Once a year for most, though heavily shaded decks and screened areas under trees can want it more often.
